What do you see?
How do you see challenges, obstacles or
problems?
Blessings are hidden in problems and
challenges.
Money and wealth are disguised as problems.
How do you see challenges, problems at your
place of work?
Do you complain and remain or praise God and
be raised?
Do you see an opportunity to get promoted or complain
and remain static?
Joseph’s brother threw him in a hole and he
eventually got them out of a hole when he became prime minister. Joseph told his
brothers: Even though you planned evil against me, God planned good to come out
of it. (Genesis 50:20 God’s Word Translation).
Goliath at over 9 feet tall was a giant that
no one wanted to fight. Everyone was petrified of him and couldn’t see beyond
the mountain of a man:
24 As soon as the Israelite army saw him,
they began to run away in fright. 25 “Have you
seen the giant?” the men asked. “He comes out each day to defy Israel. The king
has offered a huge reward to anyone who kills him. He will give that man one of
his daughters for a wife, and the man’s entire family will be exempted from
paying taxes!” (1 Samuel 17:24-25 NLT).
David could not believe the deal, what a fantastic
opportunity. David sought to ask two people to confirm what he heard was
true. The reward for solving the problem was:
1. Money
2. Marriage to the king's daughter and promotion to the royal family
3. Family exemption from taxes
Wow! Everyone saw a mountain of a problem; David
saw a mountain of an opportunity.
Goliath is a giant of a man, if I sling a
stone at him I cannot miss. David could see beyond the mountain. He could
see how to flatten the mountain to press ahead.
When
Goliath started forward, David ran toward him. 49 He
put a rock in his sling and swung the sling around by its straps. When he let
go of one strap, the rock flew out and hit Goliath on the forehead. It cracked
his skull, and he fell face down on the ground. 50 David
defeated Goliath with a sling and a rock. He killed him without even using a
sword. (1 Samuel 17:49-50 NLT).
Note: David ran to
confront Goliath. Face your challenges head on. Don’t hide or run from them. Look
for a solution, a way out. Look for something that no one else sees. What do you see?
If you need wisdom, ask our
generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
(James 1:5 NLT).
We all experience times of
testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to
you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test
or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to
trust him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of
escape that will bring you out of it victoriously. (1 Corinthians 10:13 The
Passion Translation). David could see that Goliath was a giant,
that if he threw a stone at him he could not but hit the target?
What do you see?
Shalom.
