Don't act the goat

Where are you spiritually - where were you pre-Covid-19 and where are you now?

We continually thank God for divine protection, but have you grown spiritually, how many times have you read the bible during the lockdown period?

The lockdown was an opportunity to put your house in order. Move your heart closer and closer to God, and he will come even closer to you. But make sure you cleanse your life. (James 4:8 TPT).

During these unprecedented times, the only antidote available is the word of God. We must read it, study it, meditate on it and pray. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1: NKJV). Another translation states: Study this Book of Instruction continually. (NLT). Therefore keep the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do. (Deuteronomy 29:9 NKJV).

Jesus said: My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. (James 10:27 NLT). There was a severe famine in the land and Isaac moved to Gerar. The Lord appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt, but do as I tell you. Live here as a foreigner in this land, and I will be with you and bless you. (Genesis 26:1-3).

Isaac heard God’s voice, obeyed and became a multi-millionaire: Isaac planted crops in that land and took in a huge harvest. God blessed him. The man got richer and richer by the day until he was very wealthy. (Genesis 26: 12-13 MSG). Remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth. (Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV). Can you hear the Lord’s voice at this particular time of your life?

Now is not the time to analyse things from a worldly, earthly soulish perspective. You have to be led by the Holy Spirit (aka The Counsellor) - He will lead you into all truths. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. There is a fine line between your spirit and your soul. Many of you are being led by your soul. Hence you need to stay in the word of God as it will enable you to differentiate between whether you are hearing from God or your carnal soul- For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit. (Hebrews 4:12).

This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to meditate on it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do. (Joshua 1:8 CSB). Jesus said: My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. Don’t act the goat.
