6 Samuel took one look at Eliab and
thought, “Surely this is the Lord’s
anointed!” 7 But the Lord said
to Samuel, “Don’t
judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them.
People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks
at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:6-7 NLT).
But I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret
motives. (Jeremiah 17:10 NLT).
For from the inside, from
your heart, come the evil ideas which lead you to do immoral things. (Mark 7:21 GNT).
God removed
Saul and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, ‘I have found
David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him
to do. (Acts 13:22 NLT).
If the Lord
was to check your heart right now- what would He see?
Like David,
are you a person after His own heart, a kindred spirit - a heart that is in alignment
with God?
When God
looks at your heart- would He reject you like Eliab or accept you like David?
Shalom.
