What power?
You have heard 2
Timothy 1:7 quite a bit over the last few weeks:
For God has not given
us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Soothing words.
But many seem to meditate
on only the spirit of fear part and not the power part of the scripture which is the
absolute game changer for such a time as this.
For God has not given
us a spirit of fear, but of POWER....
What is this power?
The Passion Translation states: For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power..
What is this mighty power that you have?
Mission Impossible
Your mission, should you choose to accept it.
We want you to go your
local shopping store where you will meet a man wearing a yellow cap in front of the queue (at a social
distance).
The man says: these are
unprecedented times. My family and I are living in fear.
You say: No need to
fear, for God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit
who gives you mighty power.
The man says: Tell me
more about this mighty power from the Holy Spirit you mean like Superman kind
of mighty power…?
You say: ?
If you feel that you cannot
satisfactory explain and demonstrate this mighty power to the man the mission
will be classified as incomplete. Please
forward the assignment to another agent (oops!) I mean another believing disciple…
Your immediate mission
is to read, study and meditate on Ephesians 1:19-20: I also
pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us
who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead…
(NLT).
I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable
greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives
will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you! This is
the mighty power that was released when God raised Christ
from the dead.. (The Passion Translation).
God bless you!
Amen!
