18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and
on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have
commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end
of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV).
Verse
19: says GO!
It is
an order, a commandment.
Jesus has
been given ALL the power and authority in heaven and on earth but he is now
instructing the body of Christ, YOU, to go and carry on where He left off. He
is handing the baton to you. Jesus is now seated at the right hand of God! Job
done!
In Genesis
1, we learn that God created man on the sixth day and told man to be fruitful
and govern the earth. On the seventh day, God had finished his work of creation
and He rested. Job done!
Fast
forward to the New Testament, Jesus retrieves the baton from the defeated devil
and confirms that He has been given ALL the power and authority in heaven and
on earth. However, like God in the Old Testament, he is telling the body of
Christ, you to GO and
Be
fruitful- save souls! Heal the sick! Raise the dead!
Govern-
rule the earth! What you deem to be unlawful, incorrect- you can bind it.
He has
delegated the power and authority to us, the church, YOU!
Jesus last words before departing earth: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink
anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will
recover.” (Mark 16:15-18 NKJV).
And
these signs will follow those who believe…
Do you
believe?
