Avoiding a quarrel is honorable. After all, any stubborn fool can start a fight

It is honorable for a man to stop striving, since any fool can start a quarrel. (Proverbs 20:3 NKJV).

Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling. (NLT).

Avoiding a quarrel is honorable. After all, any stubborn fool can start a fight. (God’s Word Translation).

A person of honor will put an argument to rest. Only the stupid want to pick a fight. (The Passion Translation).
It’s a mark of good character to avert quarrels, but fools love to pick fights.
(The Message Bible).

16These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him: 17A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, 19A false witness who breathes out lies [even under oath], and he who sows discord among his brethren. (Proverbs 6:16-19 AMPC).

Proverbs 6:19 in the Passion Translation states: spouting lies in false testimony, and stirring up strife between friends. These are entirely despicable to God!

I repeat: It is honorable for a man to stop striving, since any fool can start a quarrel.

Shalom.
